Royals Acquire Goaltender Braden Holt from Silvertips for Tyler Palmer

Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals have acquired 2003-born goaltender Braden Holt from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for fellow goaltender Tyler Palmer.

Holt has spent the past four seasons in Everett, appearing in over 75 games and amassing a career record of 42-22-3-2 for the club since making his debut during the 2019-2020 season.

The Bozeman, MT product played a key part in aiding the 'Tips to a first place finish in the Western Conference during the 2021-2022 season, posting 24 wins and four shutouts in 37 appearances last season.

Holt spent his minor career with Victory Honda of the T1EHL, appearing for both their 13U AAA and 14U AAA teams before moving onto Honeybaked AAA of the High Performance Hockey League as a 15-year-old, where he would be selected by the Silvertips in the 12th round (262nd overall) of the 2018 WHL Draft.

The 19-year-old is a sizable presence between the pipes, standing at 6'2" and 168 lbs. He has posted a 13-13-1-0 record in 28 games for Everett this season.

Fellow 2003-born netminder Tyler Palmer will be headed back to Everett in the trade. The Fernie, BC product played in 61 total games for the Royals.

Palmer was originally a draft pick of the Spokane Chiefs in the 10th round (215th overall) of the 2018 WHL Draft and would later be signed by Victoria in the summer of 2021.
