
Silva, Lindow Shine in 2-0 Friday Win

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Manuel Silva and Ethan Lindow combined on a four-hit shutout as the BlueClaws topped Greenville 2-0 on Friday night at FirstEnergy Park.
The BlueClaws (13-20/42-61) took the first of the four-game series with Greenville (16-19/48-57), the lone series between the two teams this season.
Silva (3-4) gave up just one hit over five scoreless innings. He struck out five and retired 15 of the 16 batters he faced in the win. Silva has thrown 18 straight scoreless innings at FirstEnergy Park.
Lakewood took the lead in the fifth with a pair of runs. The first came home on an RBI single from Hunter Stovall to open the scoring. Yerwin Trejo then followed with an RBI single to right field to score Seth Lancaster with Lakewood's second run.
Lindow came on in the sixth and threw four scoreless innings, striking out six. He earned his second save of his career.
Five BlueClaws - Rafael Marchan, Malvin Matos, Seth Lancaster, Hunter Stovall, and Yerwin Trejo - had two hits in the game. Matos has now picked up two hits in five straight games and is 15 for his last 35 at the plate.
Drive starter Alex Scherff (4-9) gave up two runs over six innings and took the loss.
The teams continue their series on Saturday night at 7:05 pm. RHP Kevin Gowdy starts for the BlueClaws.
