Siddall Reassigned To Victoria

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Matt Siddall has been reassigned to the Victoria Salmon Kings by the Atlanta Thrashers. In return, the Gladiators will receive future considerations from Victoria. A 25-year-old native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the ninth round with the 270th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and signed a multiple-year deal with the team in July of 2008.

Siddall has 14 goals and 14 assists in 31 games with the Gladiators this season and ranks second on the team in points among active skaters. He made his pro debut with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League last season and notched one assist before being assigned to the Gladiators, where he scored 37 points in 40 games and finished third on the team with 153 penalty minutes.

Siddall skated four collegiate seasons at Northern Michigan University, notching 76 points in 147 total games, before turning pro. Prior to Northern Michigan University, he played one junior season with the Powell River Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League in 2003-04, racking up 61 points and 216 penalty minutes in 45 contests.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Friday, February 5th vs. Toledo at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
