Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they will hold a silent auction for the special "Pink in the Rink" jerseys for Chad Painchaud and Adam Taylor during this week's three-game set versus the Utah Grizzlies with 100% of the proceeds to the British Columbia Cancer Foundation.
The Salmon Kings wore their pink sweaters during the club's third annual "Pink in the Rink" night on Saturday, January 23rd where the team raised funds for the BC Cancer Foundation. Since that date, through online, silent, and live auctions, the Salmon Kings have sold eight jerseys through that have raised over $7800 with 100% of the proceeds to the BC Cancer Foundation. Through the entire Pink in the Rink fundraising efforts, the Salmon Kings have helped raise over $27,000 to date for cancer research in British Columbia.
During all three games of this week's series versus Utah, both Painchaud's and Taylor's jerseys will be on display at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre with fans allowed to bid on the sweaters between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and the conclusion of the second intermission at Saturday's contest. Each winner will be presented their jersey after the game on Saturday!
This Friday is the fourth installment of the Salmon Kings' "Shuffle to Win" contest courtesy of Dave Wheaton GMC and the Victoria Times Colonist. Four fan entries will be drawn with each contestant shooting to win a brand new Cadillac SRX during the second intermission! If the Cadillac remains unclaimed after Friday, it is guaranteed to be given away to one lucky fan during the Salmon Kings' final regular season home game on Saturday, April 3rd. Fans can enter for the chance to shoot-to-win by visiting www.salmonkings.com, Dave Wheaton GMC, or by reading the Times Colonist.
The Vancouver Island Brewery will be on hand this Saturday to present their "Find the Keg" second intermission promotion. One lucky fan will have to find a keg on the ice blindfolded for a chance to win a mini-fridge.
The Salmon Kings welcome the Utah Grizzlies to Victoria for a three-game set this week with matches on Wednesday, February 3rd, Friday, February 5th, and Saturday, February 6th. Puck drop for all three games versus Utah is 7:05 p.m. For tickets, call 250-220-7777 or visit www.selectyourtickets.com.
