MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (5-3, 34-44) fell to the Montgomery Biscuits (4-4, 48-30) by a 1-0 score in the third game of the five-game series at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium on Thursday night.

The loss ends Jacksonville's winning streak at five games, tied for the longest winning stretch for the Jumbo Shrimp this season.

Montgomery right-handed starting pitcher Paul Campbell (3-0) earned the victory by pitching five scoreless innings with three hits allowed, no walks, and four strikeouts. Jacksonville right-handed starting pitcher Sixto Sanchez (3-3) took the loss, working seven innings where he set a Double-A high and tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts. Sanchez allowed one run on four hits with two walks compared to his 10 strikeouts, most of which came late in his start. Montgomery right-handed relief pitcher Phoenix Sanders earned his ninth save of the year by working the final two innings in scoreless fashion.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth. The Biscuits hit back-to-back one-out doubles, with Tristan Gray scoring Kevin Padlo from second to put Montgomery in front 1-0.

While the Jumbo Shrimp were shutout, Jacksonville recorded six hits in the game. However the Jumbo Shrimp left eight runners on base in the contest and as a team were 0-for-9 batting with runners in scoring position.

The Jumbo Shrimp and Biscuits will continue their series with the fourth game of the five-game set on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. eastern. Right-handed pitcher Edward Cabrera (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against a Montgomery starting pitcher to be announced.
