MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (48-30) snapped a three-game losing streak and avoided losing their third series of the year with an impressive 1-0 win over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (34-44) on Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Paul Campbell (3-0), who was trying for his fourth-straight quality start in his fourth Double-A appearance, pitched well, going five scoreless innings and surrendering just three hits, no walks, and four strikeouts in the victory.

Campbell's counterpart Sixto Sanchez (3-3) looked like the Marlins top prospect that he is, striking out a season-high 10 batters and allowing just four hits and two walks over seven innings.

The Biscuits breakthrough would come in the fifth. After Sanchez struck out Jesus Sanchez, Kevin Padlo socked a double into left, which brought Tristan Gray to the plate. The left-handed hitting first baseman then clubbed a double of his own off the wall in right that scored Padlo from second, and handed the Biscuits the only run they would need.

Blake Bivens worked two scoreless innings from the sixth to the seventh before handing the reigns to Phoenix Sanders, who fired two more scoreless innings for his ninth save of the season. The win was the Biscuits third by a 1-0 score in 2019. The win was also Montgomery's 12th shutout victory of the year.

The Biscuits will try to force a rubber match on Friday when it will be Family Faith Night and MAX Fireworks at Riverwalk Stadium, with an opener and Kenny Rosenberg (6-1) slated to take on Edward Cabrera at 6:35 PM CT. The series will also include Superhero Night and MAX Fireworks on Saturday, June 29.
