PREVIEW: The Shorebirds play game three against the Grasshoppers after splitting a doubleheader last night. The Shorebirds used a sixth inning home run by Justin Dalles to defeat the Grasshoppers 2-1 in game two of the twin bill. In game one, the Shorebirds managed only three hits and fell 2-0. With 24 games left in the first half, the Shorebirds are 11.5 games out of first place.

HR TEAM: In the first 37 games of the season, the Shorebirds hit ten home runs. In the last seven games, the Shorebirds have clubbed 10 home runs. The 10 home runs have accounted for 17 of their 32 runs in the last seven games.

NEW STARTERS FIND SUCCESS: In Zach Davies' second career start last night, he tossed 5.2 innings and allowed just three hits in one run. In Matt Taylor's first career start, he allowed just five hits and one run over six innings. Taylor retired the final 11 batters he faced.

6-GAME ON BASE STREAK: Although Mychal Givens went 0-for-2 in the second game of the doubleheader last night, he walked to extend his on-base streak to six games. His on-base percentage has jumped from .302 to .356 during the stretch.

5 OF LAST 8: Nicky Delmonico has five multi-hit games in his last eight games played. He leads the team in hits (44), home runs (5) and RBIs (30).
