Pitching Prevails as Suns Take Third in a Row over Lakewood

Lakewood, NJ - The Hagerstown Suns (27-19) won their third straight game over the Lakewood BlueClaws (18-29), downing the home team 4-2 at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J., on Friday night.

Suns starting pitcher Kylin Turnbull (2-3) controlled the game with six solid innings, allowing one run on five hits, no walks and four strike outs for the win. Greg Holt did not allow a hit in 2.1 innings out of the bullpen, while Bobby Lucas (2) picked up the final two outs of the game for his second save of the season.

Adrian Nieto went 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBIs in the game. Brett Newsome and Caleb Ramsey each also drove in a run for the Suns.

BlueClaws starter Colin Kleven (3-4) suffered the loss, allowing three runs over five innings of work. Kyrell Hudson went 2-for-4 with a double for Lakewood, while Harold Martinez also doubled and drove in a run.

The Suns will play the second doubleheader of the series on Saturday night, beginning with game one at 6:05 p.m. Right-hander Nathan Karns (1-0) will face BlueClaws lefty Lino Martinez (2-3). Hagerstown will send RHP Jason Smith to the mound in game two for his Suns debut.
