Salisbury, Md. - The Baltimore Orioles officially promoted Shorebirds right-handed pitcher Dylan Bundy to the Frederick Keys on Friday. In 30 innings to begin his professional career, Bundy did not allow an earned run (0.00 ERA) with the Shorebirds. He is expected to make his first Carolina League start on Saturday, May 26.

Bundy, who was honored as the Orioles Minor League Pitcher of the Month in April, struck out 40 batters and walked just two in 30 innings. He yielded only five total hits in his time with the Shorebirds. The South Atlantic League finished with a .053 batting average against Bundy.

In April, Bundy allowed just one hit in 17 innings. He retired the first 39 batters of his professional career and did not allow a single hit in his first four starts, a span of 13 innings pitched. Bundy struck out the side in his first inning as a professional and never looked back.

The fourth-overall selection by the Orioles in the 2011 draft made eight total starts with the Shorebirds, four at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium and four on the road.

The Baltimore Orioles also announced on Friday that catcher Justin Dalles has been promoted to Frederick. Mikey Planeta and Zach Fowler have been added to the Shorebirds roster.

The Shorebirds and Grasshoppers play game three of the series on Friday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
