PREVIEW: The Shorebirds lost a heartbreaker 7-6 in game one and aim to level the series in game two against the Legends. The 'Birds squandered a 5-1 lead heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. Nate Moreau tossed seven stellar innings in a starting role but picked up a no-decision. Aaron Bray hit a two-run single in the bottom of the 12th to win the game for the Legends.

SECOND GAME OPENING HOMER: Last night, T.J. Baxter hit the fifth pitch of the game from Jose Cisnero over the left field wall. It was his second game opening home run of the season. Baxter drove the third pitch from Erick Carrillo out of NewBridge Bank Park on April 15.

58 K/48.1 IP: Moreau leads the Shorebirds staff with 58 strikeouts in 48.1 innings pitched. He fanned seven in seven innings last night.

4-5 IN EXTRAS: The Shorebirds are now 4-5 in extra innings games. Only the Savannah Sand Gnats have played more extra-inning games (7-5). The Hagerstown Suns have also gone into extras nine times.

SECOND GAME OF SERIES: The 'Birds are 5-10 in the second game of series' this season. They won the second game of the series in the last two over Greensboro and Hagerstown.

BAXTER'S SIX-GAMER: T.J. Baxter has a season best six-game hitting streak. He has seven hits during the stretch. Baxter also has five runs and four RBIs during the stretch. His career long hit steak is seven, accomplished twice in 2009 for the Aberdeen Ironbirds.

POPE'S HIT/RBI STREAK: Kieron Pope has recorded a hit in five straight games and an RBI in four straight games. Pope has six RBIs in his last four games. Also of note is that Pope has been much more effective when playing in left field (.458, 4 HR, 8 RBI) as opposed to being the designated hitter (.244, 0 HR, 3 RBI).
