Sharks Recall Fibiger

CLEVELAND, OH -- San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Jesse Fibiger from the Cleveland Barons.

Fibiger, 22, has posted 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 59 games this season for Cleveland, his second professional campaign. In addition, Fibiger appeared in four games representing Team Canada at this year's Sweden Games from Feb. 4-9 in Stockholm, Sweden.

San Jose signed the six-foot-three, 220-pound native of Victoria, British Columbia as a free agent on Aug. 15, 2001.

The Sharks are in action tomorrow night when they host the Montreal Canadians at 7:30pm (PST).

The Barons play their fifth and sixth consecutive home games this Friday and Sunday at Gund Arena. The first 3,000 fans at Friday's game will receive a Barons team photo poster and there will be a post-game autograph session with the team. Sunday's game begins at 4 O'clock and the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Vesa Toskala bobble head doll.
