VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The American Hockey League's Calder Cup Trophy, which will tour Hampton Roads next week, will be on display at Max & Erma's Restaurant in Norfolk's MacArthur Center on Tuesday, March 11 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. The Norfolk Admirals are encouraging fans to stop by Max & Erma's and drop a donation for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in the Cup. Admirals' forward Casey Hankinson will join the Calder Cup at Max & Erma's, signing autographs for fans who stop by to view it.

Last Friday, the Admirals raised $30,250 for the MDA through their post-game jersey auction. Hankinson's sweater garnered $2,000, the second-highest winning bid during the auction. The organization is hoping to raise at least $750 more at Max & Erma's to bring their total donation to MDA this year to $31,000.

The Admirals are finalizing a schedule for other Calder Cup appearances throughout Hampton Roads, and will release the remaining stops for the Cup in the coming days. The Cup will be at Scope when the Blue and Gold take on their South Division rivals, the Hershey Bears (Colorado Avalanche), on Wednesday, March 12 at 7:15 p.m.

The AHL's championship trophy is named after Hockey Hall of Famer Frank Calder, who served as the first president of the National Hockey League from 1917-43. During the 1920s, Calder was instrumental in guiding professional hockey into the mainstream of the United States' major cities, including New York, Boston, Chicago and Detroit, while also helping in the formation of the AHL.
