The Canadian Division rivals were meeting for the fifth of eight scheduled meetings this season.

Shaun Sutter gave the Flames a 2-0 lead 8:32 into the final period, taking a pass from Blair Betts and, with no one around, went high over the glove shoulder of Conklin. Late in the period, with Conklin pulled for the added attacker, Micki DuPont potted the empty net tally to seal the Flames 3-0 win. Sabourin made 31 saves for the Flames for the win.
