Today's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (10-14-3-1) head into the rubber match of their three-game series with the Colorado Eagles (16-6-3-2), this afternoon, at the Cow Palace. This is the sixth of nine meetings between these teams this season. The Eagles hold the edge in the season series nine points to two.

Last night, San Francisco came back to beat Colorado, 4-3, in a shootout, The Eagles jumped out to an early lead with two first period goals. The two foes traded goals in the second, and then the Bulls stormed back with two more in the third to force extra time. In the shootout, it was pushed to a seventh round before Jordan Morrison netted the game-winner. Dale Mitchell also scored. Tyler Beskorowany stopped six of seven Colorado shooters. Dylan King, Brett Findlay, and Adrian Foster had the three goals in regulation. Tyler Gron, Collin Bowman (2), and Kalvin Sagert had assists. San Francisco out-shot the Eagles 32-23.

After a strong rookie season last year, King is following it up with an impressive sophomore campaign. He is better known for his defensive skills, but has been adding more of a scoring touch to his game. His goal last night was his third of the year, already setting a new career-high. He has nine points, which is two shy of his career-high in that category as well. In addition, his +3 plus/minus rating is second on the team.

Their loss last night marked only the second time this season the Eagles lost after scoring first. The Bulls will look to carry that momentum into the deciding game of the series this afternoon. To do so they will have to contend with forward Trent Daavettila. He had three assists yesterday, giving him five points (1g, 4a) in the first two games of the series. He leads the team in assists (21), and points (30). Those totals are tied for second and fourth in the ECHL respectively.

San Francisco is in sixth place in the Western Conference with 23 points. They are four points ahead of the Las Vegas Wranglers. The Eagles are in second place in the Western Conference with 37 points. They are five points behind the conference leading Ontario Reign, and two points up on the Alaska Aces.

This afternoon wraps up the weekend of holiday giveaways. The first 500 kids, 13 years of age and under, will receive a light-up Snowflake Wand.

Following the game the Bulls will be off for four days. Next weekend they begin another three-in-three series, this time against the Stockton Thunder. Game One is Friday at the Cow Palace, and begins at 7:30 pm. The Bulls will don Ugly Sweater Specialty Jerseys that will be live auctioned after the game.
