Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Orlando, FL : Greenville scored three unanswered goals, including two in the third period, to collect a 3-2 victory against Orlando on Sunday night.
The Solar Bears grabbed a lead with 39 seconds left in the first period with a goal from Tyler Murovich. The forward batted the puck out of mid-air past Road Warriors' goaltender, Connor Knapp. Goaltender Garrett Sparks once again gave the Road Warriors' offense problems denying all 17 shots.
Eight minutes into the second, Orlando took a 2-0 lead with a goal from Michael Catenacci, his second of the season. Greenville finally found the back of the net with three minutes left in the period. Andrew Rowe found Brayden Irwin in the high slot to score on a wrist shot past Sparks for his 11th of the year.
The game was tied at two by Mike Marcou seven minutes into the final period. The defenseman found a loose puck in the slot for his second of the year. The scramble led to assists for Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Brett Perlini. The assist brought Vallerand's point streak to six games. With 3:11 left, Rowe scored on a rebound shot from Irwin to give Greenville a 3-2 lead. The goal would stand as the game winner despite Orlando pulling the goalie for the extra attacker. Knapp improved to a 5-6-1 record with 28 saves.
