Seven Winterhawks Prospects to Compete at U-16 Provincial Camps

The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is excited to share that seven players who were selected in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft will compete in Canadian provincial camps this summer.

Signed prospect and defenseman Griffin Darby is one of four Saskatchewan based players who were named on Team Saskatchewan's "Top 32" roster. Darby (1st round, Swift Current, Sask.) will be joined by forward Owen Chapman (3rd round, Saskatoon, Sask.), defenseman Cameron Jacobson (4th round, Wakaw, Sask.), and forward Cash Lanigan (4th round, Regina, Sask.) at Saskatchewan's summer camp later this month.

80 athletes have arrived in Red Deer for the 2023 Team Alberta Male Under-16 Summer Camp! They are all vying for spot on the 2023 WHL Cup roster this fall.

Second-round WHL Prospects Draft selection and signed Winterhawks prospect Jordan Duguay headlines the three players who will participate in Alberta's Under-16 Male Summer Camp. Defenseman Will McLaughlin (5th round, Canmore, Alta.) and forward Nash Nicolay (7th round, Rocky Mountain House, Alta.) will also skate in Team Alberta's 80-man camp from July 4 - 9 in Red Deer, Alta.

Players from Saskatchewan and Alberta will compete for a spot on their respective under-16 teams that will compete at the 2023 WHL Cup in Red Deer, Alta. this October.
