Pats Make Pair of Selections in 2023 CHL Import Draft

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats made a pair of selections in Wednesday's 2023 CHL Import Draft, drafting goaltender Ewan Huet 36th overall and defenceman Stian Solberg with the 96th overall pick.

Huet, 18, played for Lausanne U20 in the Switzerland U20 league in 2022-23, going 14-12-2 with a 2.73 goals against average and two shutouts. Holding both citizenship in Switzerland and France, Huet is the son of former NHL goaltender Cristobal Huet. The 6-foot, 168 lb. goaltender also represented Switzerland internationally with their U18 team, going 2-2-0 with a 2.50 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.

Solberg, 17, tallied four points (1G-3A) in 18 games in 2022-23 with Vålerenga in Norway's top pro league. The Oslo, Norway product is listed at 6-foot-2, 196 lb. and has represented Norway internationally with their U18 team.
