Seven Philadelphia Union Players Receive International Call Ups

CHESTER, Pa. - Philadelphia Union announced today that seven players have received international call-ups from their respective federations ahead of the upcoming FIFA international window. Andre Blake, Damion Lowe, Jose Martinez, Daniel Gazdag, and Tai Baribo have joined their respective countries' teams for their FIFA international matches. Additionally, Homegrown players Jack McGlynn and Nathan Harriel have rejoined the United States U23 National Team for camp in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain in preparation for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Blake and Lowe join the Jamaican National Team for the CONCACAF Nations Lague Quarterfinal. Blake, who captains the squad, has earned 71 caps and registered 25 clean sheets for the Reggae Boyz. Lowe has earned 58 appearances, scoring three goals and registering one assist. Jamaica will play Canada (Nov. 17, 7:00 p.m., Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m.) in the CONCACAF Nations League Quarterfinals. The winner of the two-legged series will secure a 2024 Copa America berth.

Martinez joins the Venezuelan National Team for a pair of World Cup qualification matches. Martinez, who has a total of 26 caps for La Vinotinto, registered his first assist for the national team in a 1-1 draw against Ecuador on June 20, 2021. Martinez was most recently called up in October 2023 in a World Cup qualification match against Chile where he logged 68 minutes and recorded one assist in a 3-0 victory. Venezuela will play two World Cup qualification matches against Ecuador (Nov. 16, 5:00 p.m.) and Peru (Nov. 21, 9:00 p.m.).

Gazdag returns to the Hungarian National Team for the next round of EURO 2024 qualification matches. Gazdag has earned 21 caps, and most recently joined the squad in October for a EURO 2024 qualification match against Lithuania where he played 45 minutes. In his 21 appearances, Gazdag has scored four goals in World Cup qualifying matches against Andorra (Mar. 31, 2021), San Marino (Nov. 12, 2021), Poland (Nov. 15, 2021), and England (Jun. 14, 2022). Hungary will play two UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier matches against Bulgaria (Nov. 16, 12:00 p.m.) and Montenegro (Nov 19, 9:00 a.m.).

Baribo joins the Israeli National Team for the next round of EURO 2024 qualification matches. In 12 appearances, Baribo has scored three goals, his first one coming in a 2-1 victory over Albania in a UEFA Nations League match. Israel will play four qualification matches against Kosovo (Nov. 12, 2:45 p.m.), Switzerland (Nov. 15, 2:45 p.m.), Romania (Nov. 18, 2:45 p.m.), and Andorra (Nov. 21, 2:45 p.m.).

Homegrown players Jack McGlynn and Nathan Harriel join the United States U23 National Team for a pair of international friendlies. In October, both players made their debut with the team, playing a full 90 minutes in a 2-1 victory against Mexico's U23 team in an international friendly. Midfielder Jack McGlynn also contributed with an assist in a match against Japan's U23 squad on October 17. The U23's will play international friendlies against Iraq (Nov. 18) and Morocco (Nov. 21).
