NYCFC Pair Selected for International Duty
November 13, 2023 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New York City FC News Release
Two New York City Football Club players have been selected to represent their country during the upcoming international window.
Homegrown defender Tayvon Gray has been selected to represent Jamaica as they prepare to face Canada in a two-leg Concacaf Nations League tie.
The Bronx native made his senior debut with the Reggae Boyz in September of this year, and will now try to help his country as they take on Mauro Biello's side.
The first leg will take place in Jamaica on November 17 before the return leg in Canada on November 21.
Joining him on international duty is Mitja Ilenič. The promising defender has once again been selected to represent Slovenia at U21 level.
Ilenič will participate in a friendly against Turkey on November 17 as he looks to add to his experience at U21 level.
The Club would like to congratulate both players on their selection and wish them good luck.
