The U.S. secured its first Olympic berth since Beijing 2008 by defeating host Honduras 3-0 in the 2022 Concacaf Under-20 Championship semifinals.
Cowell, 20, has been capped eight times by the full U.S. Men's National Team and most recently appeared at senior level in the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup, where he scored once in five appearances. Additionally, the native of Ceres, California, featured in the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup with the U.S. U-20 MYNT, leading the team in scoring with three goals as they advanced to the quarterfinals.
