For the second consecutive game in Bowie, the Senators toss a shutout, this time winning 3-0. Brad Peacock combined with Pat McCoy and Ryan Mattheus to strike out ten and allow just two hits.
Peacock went seven innings and allowed a pair of two out hits and one walk. He struck out five consecutive batters spanning the first through third innings. Peacock has won four consecutive games and is now 4-1 on the season. Mattheus set down the side in order for his fourth save.
Derek Norris hit his first AA home run giving the Sens the lead in the seventh inning. Steve Lombardozzi then laid down a perfect bunt for a hit with two outs in the seventh to drive in Archie Gilbert. Bill Rhinehart tacked on the final run of the game, a solo home run in the eight, his third on the season, giving the Sens their final winning margin.
Josh Johnson and Jonathan Tucker both had three hits in the win while Lombardozzi had two more.
The Senators move to 13-11 while the Baysox drop to 13-12 on the season. Game three of the four-game series is Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. The Sens send RH Brad Meyers to the hill against Baysox RH Mitch Atkins.
