Senators Rally for a 4-3 Win on Sunday
August 30, 2015 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
In their final road game of the season, the Harrisburg Senators plated four runs in the decisive seventh inning to top the Erie SeaWolves, 4-3. Harrisburg (64-70) overcame a 2-0 deficit despite getting outhit by the SeaWolves.
Erie got to Harrisburg starter Lucas Giolito early as they scored two first-inning runs on four singles and a throwing error by right-fielder Drew Vettleson. But Giolito (3-2) settled down after that as he used three double plays in the next three innings. The right-hander scattered ten hits over six innings, but struck out five for the victory.
Wander Suero threw 1.2 scoreless innings but ran into trouble allowing a walk and single in the eighth inning. Matt Purke relieved Suero and struck out pinch-hitter Connor Harrell to get out of the jam. Erie's Wade Gaynor led off the ninth frame with a solo home run off Abel De Los Santos to cut the Senators' lead in half. De Los Santos got the next three batters in order including two strikeouts to pocket his eighth save of the season.
Chris Bostick, Brian Goodwin, and Wilmer Difo led the Senators' offensive attack. Difo and Goodwin both registered two hits and drove in a run to even the score. Bostick followed with a home run, his sixth at Double-A, to score the go-ahead runs. Isaac Ballou almost remained hot at the dish with two hits on the afternoon.
The Senators begin their final homestand of the season on Monday evening against the Richmond Flying Squirrels with Colin Bates on the mound, starting at 7:00 p.m. The pregame show will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
