Senators Bats Silent in 7-0 Setback

The Erie SeaWolves used four home runs to power past the Senators 7-0 Saturday night at FNB Field in front of 5,098 fans. Erie scored a run in the first and three more in the second and cruised from there to take their third win in the series against two losses. The managed just five hits in the game.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Mario Sanchez made his second start since returning from the injured list. He went three innings and allowed four runs on four hits. Two of the four hits were home runs.

Ryan Tapani followed and went four innings and allowed two solo home runs while striking out four.

Reid Schaller finished the game, pitching the final two frames and allowed a run on three hits.

WITH THE GAVEL

Donovan Casey was the only Senators batter with two hits.

Gilbert Lara doubled, and Jackson Cluff and Osvaldo Duarte had the only other hits for the Sens.

FILIBUSTERS

It was the 13th time the Sens have been shut out this season but the first time since July 4. Harrisburg had several chances to score going 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

The Senators and Erie SeaWolves play game six of their six-game series Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 12:40 p.m.
