
Yard Goats Blast Two 3-Run Homers in 7-4 Win

Manchester, NH - The Yard Goats blasted a pair of three-run home runs in a 7-4 victory against the Fisher Cats on Saturday evening at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire. First round pick Michael Toglia gave Hartford a 3-0 lead with his first Double-A home run, a line drive to right field in the first inning, and Elehuris Montero broke a 3-3 tie with a long home run to left field in the fourth inning as the Yard Goats denied New Hampshire of a third straight win. It was Montero's franchise record 22nd homer of the season. Knuckleballer Nate Harris earned his first Double-A win, while pitching into the sixth inning, and Will Gaddis recorded his first Double-A save by retiring the side in order in the ninth.
The Yard Goats took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on Michael Toglia's three-run homer against Fisher Cats starter Maximo Castillo. The liner down the right field line scored Jameson Hannah who led off the inning with a single and Elehuris Montero who walked.
The Fisher Cats tied the game in the third inning on four hits, one walk and a sacrifice fly off Hartford starter Nate Harris. LJ Talley and Chavez Young each had RBI singles and the game was 3-3 after three innings.
The Yard Goats broke the 3-3 tie on Montero's three-run homer in the fourth inning, his second home run in two games. The infielder's 22nd home run (tied for league league) landed in the left field seats and scored Jose Gomez and Coco Montes, giving Hartford a 6-3 lead. The Yard Goats made it 7-3 with a run on a wild pitch in the sixth inning.
Nate Harris used his knuckleball to pitch into the sixth inning, allowing three runs on six hits with four walks and one strikeout, while registering his first win. Relievers Michael Baird, Zach Matson, Yoan Aybar and Will Gaddis allowed just one run over the final four innings.
The Yard Goats conclude the six-game series against the Fisher Cats on Sunday afternoon (1:35) in Manchester, New Hampshire against the Fisher Cats.
