Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Bowie Baysox (49-32) outlasted the Somerset Patriots (50-32) 3-1 before 5,966 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday night.

Bowie struck first when Yusniel Diaz hit a two-run double against Patriots starter Jhony Brito (L, 1-1) in the top of the first inning. Brito was then unhittable, as he retired 17 straight and struck out eight over his six-innings of work.

The Patriots' lone run came on a Brandon Lockridge sixth-inning solo home run (6).

Somerset found themselves in a bases-loaded jam in the top of the ninth inning, but Addison Russ was able to work out of it while only giving up one run on a single by Seth Mejias-Brean.

Cody Sedlock (W, 5-2) picked up the win after he allowed a run on four hits and five strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Felix Bautista (S, 4) earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning.

The Patriots and Baysox conclude the six-game series on Sunday with a 5:05 pm game at TD Bank Ballpark.
