SeaWolves Drop Series Finale to Reading

Reading was able to knock Erie off by a score of 4-2 in game three also taking the series victory.

Scoring would not open up until the top of the fourth inning as the Erie starter Josh Turley and Reading starter Aaron Nola proved the be dominant early. Reading would open up the scoring in the top of the fourth off of a solo homer by Cam Perkins, his seventh of the year.

Erie would respond to tie the game in the top of the fifth. Connor Harrell and Wade Gaynor would start the inning off with back-to-back singles, and would be moved over by a sacrifice bunt executed by Drew Longely. Harold Castro would then send a sacrifice fly deep to center field scoring Connor Harrell and knotting the game up at one.

A J.P Crawford walk would lead the top of the sixth off for the Fightins, and then KC Serna would step to the plate and send his first homerun of the year over the left field wall. These runs would prove to be the deciding factor in the game as Reading took a 3-1 lead.

The game would remain scoreless until the ninth inning in which both teams would tack on a run. Brodie Green would lead the top of the ninth off for Reading with a single into center field. Roman Quinn would come into pinch run and eventually be driven in by J.P. Crawford, increasing the Fightin's lead to 4-1. Erie would get that run back in the bottom of the inning, as James Robbins would lead the inning off with a double down the first base line. Connor Harrell would single in Robbins, but it would not be enough. Stephen Shackleford would close the door on Erie, picking up his 11th save of the year, giving Reading the 4-2 victory.

Aaron Nola improves to 7-3 on the season with the win, and Josh Turley takes the loss on the day his record dropping to 4-4.
