Harrisburg Senators News Release

In a league-leading 25th one-run game, the Harrisburg Senators fell 3-2 to the Akron RubberDucks Thursday at Metro Bank Park. With the loss, Harrisburg dropped to a season-worst eight games under .500 at 22-30.

The pitching was solid again for the Senators as Dakota Bacus allowed just two runs on eight hits in six innings of work. The quality start was Bacus' second since joining Harrisburg on May 21. He walked one and struck out six. Abel De Los Santos allowed the eventual winning run on a Tyler Naquin RBI single in the top of the seventh inning. De Los Santos allowed two hits and walked a batter in his only inning of work. Sam Runion pitched the eighth and ninth inning without allowing a run.

Harrisburg scored their first run in the bottom of the second inning when Matt Skole hit a mammoth solo homer off the top of the Metro Bank Park scoreboard. The dinger was Skole's team-high eighth of the season. The Senators tied the game at 2-2 in the sixth inning when Tony Renda scored on a wild pitch. Brian Goodwin, who doubled earlier in the sixth inning, was stranded at third base when the frame ended. The Senators did have a runner move past first base in their final three at-bats.

Harrisburg will embark on a seven-game roadtrip beginning tomorrow night in Trenton with a 7:00 p.m. start. The pregame show will start at 6:45 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
