
Former New York Yankees Pitcher Joins Rock Cats

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, has announced that former New York Yankees right-handed pitcher Brett Marshall was assigned to the Rock Cats and will start tonight's game in Altoona, PA. Marshall spent the month of September in 2013 with the New York Yankees, posting a 4.50 ERA in 3 relief outings in the American League.
The 25 year right-handed pitcher was assigned to New Britain from extended spring training and will make his first appearance of the season. The former Yankees pitcher signed with Rockies as a minor league free agent in November and is pitching in the Eastern League for the first time since 2012 when he went 13-7 with a 3.52 ERA in 27 starts with the Trenton Thunder and was a league All-Star. Marshall pitched three games for the Yankees in 2013 and posted a 4.50 ERA (6ER 12 IP). Last season, he pitched at Triple-A Louisville in Reds' system, going 1-10 with a 6.53 ERA in 16 games (15 starts) in the International League. Colorado is his third organization as he pitched in Yankees (2008-2013) and Reds (2014) systems.

Made Major League debut, May 15, 2013 vs Seattle and threw 108 pitches in relief while tossing 5.2 innings while allowing 5 runs on 9 hits (5BB 1K) at Yankee Stadium...
