Jack Murphy Delivers RBI Single in Loss

MANCHESTER, NH - Jack Murphy delivered an RBI single, but Bowie won the rubber game of a three-game series in New Hampshire with a 10-1 win over the Fisher Cats on Thursday morning.

The Baysox (27-26) jumped on starter Casey Lawrence (4-6) for four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back to claim the series victory.

Tim Berry (1-4) earned his first win of the season for Bowie, allowing one run on three hits in 6.2 innings. He walked three and struck out one batter.

The Fisher Cats (26-27) managed just three hits. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Kevin Nolan singled and Ryan Schimpf reached on a fielders choice. Matt Newman walked and Murphy singled Schimpf in for the team's run.

Bowie had four hitters with three hits apiece, part of a 20-hit attack. Glynn Davis, Ozzie Martinez, Garabez Rosa and Quincy Latimore each had three hits. Latimore drove in two runs with a single in the first. Austin Winns and Martinez had two-run doubles in the fifth inning and Rossmel Perez also drove in two runs.

The homestand continues on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. with Richmond (Giants AA) in town for the first of three games. An Atlas Fireworks Show presented by AutoFair will follow the game.
