Akron RubberDucks News Release

Todd Hankins homered, Tyler Naquin notched the game-winning RBI with a seventh-inning single, and Adam Plutko earned his first Double-A win as the Akron RubberDucks edged the Harrisburg Senators, 3-2, on Thursday night at Metro Bank Park.

Turning Point

Naquin went 2-5, with a pair of singles to raise his season average to .331, and extend his hitting streak to nine games. His two-out single in the seventh inning off Senators reliever Abel De Los Santos (1-4) drove in Tony Wolters to snap a 2-2 tie and give the RubberDucks (25-27) the lead for good. Naquin had six hits in the three-game series.

Mound Presence

Plutko (1-0) worked seven innings and allowed just two runs on six hits. He did not walk a batter and equaled a team-high with nine strikeouts. He allowed a solo homer to Harrisburg's Matt Skole in the second inning, and allowed a run in the sixth on a wild pitch. It was Plutko's first win at the AA level. Right-handers Trey Haley and Jeff Johnson pitched the eighth and ninth, respectively. Johnson earned his eighth save.

Duck Tales

Hankins smacked a solo homer in the top of the first off Harrisburg starter Dakota Bacus. It was his fourth of the year, which ties Hankins for the team-lead. Yandy Diaz drove in a run in the third on a fielder's choice that gave the RubberDucks a 2-1 lead. Bryson Myles was 1-3, with a bunt single that extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Jeremy Lucas was 2-3, with a run scored.
