
Sea Dogs Receive Iggy Suarez from Lancaster

Portland, Maine- The Boston Red Sox have transferred infielder Iggy Suarez from Single-A Lancaster to the Portland Sea Dogs. Sea Dogs infielder David Bacani was placed on the disabled list (oblique muscle).
In 18 games at Single-A Lancaster, Suarez ranks third in the California League in hitting at .379 along with eight doubles and 15 RBI's. He has reached base safely in 22 straight games dating back to August 28, 2006. The 25 year-old Suarez appeared in eight games with the Portland Sea Dogs in 2006, where he hit safely in three of the eight games. He was drafted by the Red Sox in the 24th round of the June 2003 draft. Suarez will wear uniform # 17 with Portland.
Bacani has appeared in four games for the Sea Dogs this season, hitting at a .308 clip with one home run.
The Sea Dogs begin a six game homestand tonight at 6:00 PM against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays). Tickets for all 2007 Portland Sea Dogs home games are available and can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com.
