AKRON -- The Akron Aeros (11-7) returned home to Canal Park following a eight-game road trip to win the series opener over the Reading Phillies (11-9), 5-1. Cleveland Indians starting pitcher, Cliff Lee made his third rehab start of the season, first with Akron, and pitched five scoreless innings for the win. With the win, Akron takes over first place in the Southern Division of the Eastern League.

Reading's starter, Landon Jacobsen matched Lee through the first four innings keeping the Aeros off the scoreboard. However, in the bottom of the fifth Akron plated two runs on three hits including RBI-singles by Brandon Pinckney and Argenis Reyes.

The Aeros added two more runs in the seventh inning as Trevor Crowe drove in a pair of runs with a single to center. In his three wins against the rest of the Eastern League, he has combined to give up only one run.
