Sea Dogs Players to Participate in Special Olympics Softball Game

The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will be teaming up with the Special Olympics of Maine on Saturday, August 7th as six Sea Dogs players will take part in a softball game with Maine's Special Olympians. The game will take place at 10:00 AM at Payson Park in Portland.

The following Sea Dogs players are scheduled to take part in the event; Bryce Cox, Mitch Herold, Ryne Lawson, Blake Maxwell, Ryne Miller, & Eastern League All-Star Jason Rice. All the Special Olympians participating in the event have been invited to attend Saturday's Sea Dogs game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 6:00 PM.

The Special Olympics Unified Sports program brings together athletes of all types who train and compete on the same teams. Throughout the year, in a variety of sports ranging from baseball and soccer to golf and skiing, Unified athletes build their bodies, sharpen their skills, challenge the competition and have fun. It's a physical workout that builds friendship, character, leadership, and inspires greatness in all who participate.

Tickets are available for all remaining 2010 Sea Dogs' home games. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or order online at www.seadogs.com. Only 17 home games remain in the 2010 season. The Sea Dogs are Maine's most affordable professional sports entertainment.
