News and Notes

REMATCH, PART DEUX: Tonight, the Sea Dogs and Rock Cats will again have a feeling of déjà vu, as Stolmy Pimentel is matched up against Steve Hirschfeld...The same two pitchers dueled last Friday, with neither coming up with a decision...Pimentel pitched five scoreless frames and left in line for the win, but New Britain came up with runs in the eighth and ninth for a walk-off, 2-1 victory. Last night, Brock Huntzinger and Bobby Lanigan faced off for the second time this season.

BROCK SOLID: Huntzinger had the best start of his brief Double-A career...After lasting only 6.2 IP over two starts, the Indiana native allowed just one run over five innings for his first Double-A win.

QUITE A START: Quincy, Massachusetts native Alex Hassan has hit safely in all 12 starts, going 20-for-44 (.455)...Hassan has a 14-game hitting streak dating back to last season in the Carolina League with the Salem Red Sox...Hassan kept the streak alive with an RBI double off Lanigan (1-2) in the fourth inning.
