McDade Hits First Home Run As Fisher Cats Win

(Manchester, NH)-Mike McDade blasted his first home run of the season and four Fisher Cats pitchers combined on a seven-hit shutout as New Hampshire won its fourth straight game, 2-0, over Binghamton, on Friday night.

Chad Beck (2-0) picked up his second win in two starts, working the first seven innings. He allowed four hits, walked two and struck out six. Yohan Pino, Mike Hinckley and Alan Farina completed the shutout with Farina working the ninth inning for his third save.

The Fisher Cats (9-5) took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Moises Sierra was hit by a pitch and he scored from first on a double by Travis d'Arnaud.

McDade's solo home run in the sixth inning off losing pitcher Robert Carson (1-2) gave the Fisher Cats a 2-0 lead.

Carson (1-2) worked six innings of five-hit ball for the Mets. He did not walk a batter and struck out eight.

Binghamton (5-8) was led by second baseman Josh Satin, who had three hits for the second consecutive night.

The Fisher Cats and Binghamton conclude the series on Saturday afternoon at 1:35pm. RHP Brandon Moore (0-0, 7.00) will start for the Mets against New Hampshire RHP Joel Carreno (0-2, 8.49). Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Rajai Davis is expected to continue his rehabilitation assignment Saturday. As New Hampshire's lead-off hitter on Friday night, Davis went 1-for-3 with a single, playing centerfield.
