Trenton Thunder News Release
(HARRISBURG, PA) - The Trenton Thunder (7-8) fell 3-2 to the Harrisburg Senators (7-7) on a chilly Friday night at Metro Bank Park. Trailing 3-0 entering the ninth, Thunder third baseman Bradley Suttle hit a two-run homerun with no one out, but the next three hitters were retired and the Trenton comeback fell short. Senator starter Brad Peacock dominated the Trenton bats, limiting them to just one hit in his seven and one-third scoreless innings.
Thunder righty Craig Heyer, making his second start of the season, settled down after allowing three Harrisburg runs in each of the first three innings and finished his night retiring seven consecutive batters. Heyer was once again not helped-out by the Thunder offense, though. In his ten innings as a starting pitcher this season, the Thunder offense has not scored a run.
The Suttle long ball was his first of the season and the second for a Thunder hitter away from Waterfront Park. The homerun also broke a fifteen inning scoreless streak by the Thunder offense.
The finale of Trenton's three-game set with Harrisburg is Saturday at 7:00 PM from Metro Bank Park. Ewing native LHP Steve Garrison (0-1, 4.38) will make the start for Trenton, while RHP Brad Meyers (2-1, 3.07) will get the pearl for Harrisburg. Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR-FM and on trentonthunder.com. The SBLI Pre-Game Show with Hank Fuerst begins at 6:45 PM on the Trenton Thunder Radio Network.
