NEW ENGLAND TRIP : The Portland Sea Dogs begin their third roadtrip of the season, opening up a four-game series with the Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies affiliate) on Thursday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park...Portland was swept in a three-game set by Hartford to wrap-up their last trip...Dating back to last season, the 'Dogs have dropped eight of their previous nine in Hartford...Righty Travis Lakins makes his second straight start against the Yard Goats.
LONG NIGHT AT HADLOCK : Trenton scored two unearned runs in the eighth inning on a dropped pop-fly by 2B Nick Lovullo and held on for a 9-8 win...Portland built a 6-0 lead after two innings, scoring four runs in the first inning off Dillon Tate...Luke Tendler and Cole Sturgeon have homered in consecutive games...Tendler hit a three-run homer in the first and Sturgeon hit a solo-shot in the fourth...Trenton's bullpen allowed one unearned run over 7.2 innings pitched.
