Tonight, the SeaWolves hit the road as they begin a five-game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at People's Natural Gas Field. Yesterday afternoon, the SeaWolves suffered an extra innings loss to the Bowie Baysox, 9-6, at UPMC Park. It was the second loss of the recent homestand where the SeaWolves held a lead in the ninth inning and came away with a loss. The loss dropped Erie to 1-4 in extra innings games this season...Righty Kyle Funkhouser takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his fifth start of the season and second against the Curve. Funkhouser took a no-decision in his first start against Altoona on April 14 allowing a run on two hits with a season-high five walks and seven strikeouts in 4.1 innings. Funkhouser took his second straight loss in his last start against Binghamton on April 28. In the game he allowed three runs, two earned, on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. Erie lost the game 6-2 and dropped to 0-4 in Funkhouser starts...Righty Mitch Keller takes the mound for Altoona making his fifth start and first against Erie. Keller took a loss in his last start against Harrisburg on April 28. In the game, he allowed three runs on five hits with a season-high five walks and three strikeouts in a season-low four innings pitched.
