Akron RubberDucks News Release

Akron's Bobby Bradley socked a pair of homers and collected five RBI, and right-hander Jake Paulson pitched six shutout innings in his Double-A debut, as the RubberDucks lambasted the Bowie Baysox, 15-0, Thursday night at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, Md.

Turning Point

Bradley socked the first of his two homers in the fifth inning off Baysox reliever Ryan Meisinger. It came after a lead-off single by Joe Sever and gave the RubberDucks a 6-0 lead.

Mound Presence

Paulson (1-0) turned in a stellar performance in his initial appearance at the Double-A level. Just added to the Akron roster Wednesday from Class-A Lynchburg, the 6-foot-7 right-hander pounded the strike zone against the Baysox and induced 13 ground-ball outs during his six-inning effort. Paulson scattered seven hits, walked one and fanned three. The Indians signed Paulson, 26, to a free agent contract after the 26-year-old was released by Cincinnati on March 17th.

Duck Tales

Bradley was 3-5, with two homers, a double and five RBI. He doubled a run home in the third inning off Sox starter Hunter Harvey (0-1) to make it 2-0. He crushed another long homer in the sixth, also a two-run blast, to give the Ducks a 10-0 lead. Bradley now leads the team with five homers. Andrew Calica also had a productive night at the plate, drilling three hits, including a two-run double in the third that gave the Ducks a 4-0 lead. Joe Sever enjoyed a three-hit night and raised his average to .302. Tyler Krieger was 2-6 and extended his hitting streak to 11 games. Willi Castro chipped in two hits and two RBI. Sicnarf Loopstok capped the scoring with a solo homer in the ninth to extend the lead to 15-0. It was Loopstok's fourth of the year.
