TONIGHT'S GAME The Senators embark on a seven-game road trip beginning with a three-game series against the Trenton Thunder that starts Thursday night. The Senators dropped the rubber match of their three-game series with Hartford on Wednesday 3-2 after the Yard Goats scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth. The Thunder took two out of three games from the Senators in their first and only series this season April 23 to 25.
SCHEDULE UPDATE The Senators' next 14 games will be played against American League affiliated teams, the club's longest stretch this season playing consecutive games with the DH. 14 of the Senators' next 18 games are on the road, with the lone homestand a four-game series against New Hampshire May 10-13.
HOME RUN HYPE Yadiel Hernandez has homered in four consecutive games, giving him five for the season which ties him for fifth most in the Eastern League. All of Hernandez's home runs this season have been to left field. 14 of the last 17 runs scored by the Senators have all been driven in on home runs. The Senators as a team has hit 20 home runs this season, fifth most in the Eastern League.
BREAKFAST WITH THE SENATORS The Senators' dropped their first home morning game in the series finale to Hartford. The club's second and final morning game at FNB Field is on May 24 against Erie. The Senators won their only other morning game this season when they beat Trenton 4-2 on April 25. The Senators are scheduled to play six AM baseball games this year.
BRADY'S BEST Brady Dragmire was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 23-29. Dragmire went a career-high eight innings in his lone start on April 29 against Altoona and retired 24 of the 25 batters he faced. The right-hander had a perfect game through five innings until Stephen Alemais reached on an infield single to lead off the sixth. That was the only baserunner of the game for the Curve. Dragmire and reliever Roman Mendez combined to retire 27 of the 28 batters faced in the game. The right-hander is the first Senators player this season to earn either Pitcher or Player of the Week honors. SENATORS STARTING PITCHER Brady Dragmire starts the road trip opener for the Senators. The right-hander 2-0 with a 2.67 ERA this season. Dragmire retired 24 of 25 batters went a career high eight innings in his last start against Altoona on April 28. TRENTON STARTING PITCHER Trenton counters with starter Will Carter. The right-hander is 0-1 with a 6.91 ERA across four starts this season. Carter allowed just six runs, two earned, in four and two-thirds innings on April 23 at New Hampshire. Carter was originally selected in the 14th round of the 2015 draft from the University of Alabama.
