ROAD TRIP ENDS WITH A LOSS: Behind a five-run second inning, Akron edged Binghamton in Wednesday;'s rubber game at Canal Park, 5-2. The Rumble Ponies failed to score until the ninth inning on Tyler Moore's two-run double. The RubberDucks are 5-1 against the Rumble Ponies this season.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Mickey Jannis makes his third Eastern League start of the season and first against New Hampshire. The knuckleballer has won both of his Binghamton starts this season, both against the Erie SeaWolves. Thursday is Jannis' 50th Binghamton start in his pro career.

ROAD TRIP RECAP: Binghamton finished the six-game swing (4-2), including a three-game sweep of the Erie SeaWolves. The Rumble Ponies outscored their opponents 39-25, launched seven home runs and committed just two errors.

ALONSO'S ACCOLADES: Just days after being named the Eastern League's Player of the Week, 1B Peter Alonso was recognized as the League's Player of the Month. In 21 games, he hit .408 with 7 HR & 19 RBI. He led the league in average, hits (31), XBH (14), TB (59), OBP, SLG, & OPS.

HITS DON'T LIE: Only once on the road trip (Wednesday's 5-2 loss) did the Rumble Ponies record fewer than nine hits. Binghamton failed to collect at least nine hits in eight straight games to start the 2018 season.

(NOT SO) NEW HAMPSHIRE: Binghamton returns to NYSEG Stadium to face the team they most recently hosted. Binghamton nabbed two out of three from the Eastern Division leaders last week, including a rubber game walk-off victory.

PISTOL PETE: 1B Peter Alonso extended his team-best hitting streak to 10 games with a 1-for-4 performance on Wednesday night. Since the streak began on April 22, he's posted a .500 average (19-for-38) with 5 HR, 12 RBI, & 10 BB.

STARTERS STRUGGLES: In the three-game series at Akron, all three of Binghamton's starting pitchers allowed home runs. Andrew Church, Nabil Crismatt, and Marcos Molina combined to give up 15 runs over 16.0 innings with an (0-2) record.

GIMME MOORE: C Tyler Moore accounted for both Binghamton runs on Wednesday with his ninth-inning two-run double. Despite only appearing in six games this season, Moore has at least one hit and an RBI in each of his last three games.

'CATS & PONIES: The two squads have split six games so far this season and will meet 21 times.

UP NEXT: The Rumble Ponies continue their four-game series against New Hampshire on Friday evening. Binghamton sends RHP Scott Copeland to the mound against New Hampshire RHP Francisco Rios. First pitch at NYSEG Stadium is slated for 7:05 PM.
