NEW SERIES, STILL HOME : The Portland Sea Dogs continue their week-long homestand, entertaining the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate) on Friday night at Hadlock Field...Portland snapped a six-game losing streak at home with yesterday's win but dropped two of three to Hartford...The two clubs play a twinbill tomorrow to make-up for the series lost at the end of April...Right-hander Mike Shawaryn makes his second start of the season against Reading.
WHAT A MORNING : Portland scored a season-high eight runs in the third inning, and defeated Hartford, 12-3 on Thursday morning at Hadlock...Josh Ockimey and Jantzen Witte each hit three-run homers...During the third, the first 11 batters reached base safely, with 14 hitting during the frame...Teddy Stankiewicz (4-4) returned to the starting rotation and worked seven strong innings on just two runs to earn the victory.
