Thunder Raise Awareness with Breathless Blowout at Eastern League All-Star Classic
May 25, 2018 - Eastern League (EL1)
Trenton Thunder News Release
The Thunder, in collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim, are pleased to raise awareness for idiophatic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) through its Breathless campaign during the Eastern League All-Star Classic, presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, on Wednesday, July 11.
To raise awareness for breathlessness, the telltale symptom of IPF, all fans at the 2018 Eastern League All-Star Game will receive bubble gum and be encouraged to all blow a bubble at once in an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Record for most people blowing a bubble at one time. Gum will be distributed to all fans during the 9th inning of the game and prior to the post-game fireworks show, everyone will be encouraged to blow a bubble together.
"Raising awareness for IPF is important to everyone in the Yankees family, particularly to one our special guests for the All-Star Classic, Bernie Williams." said Thunder GM/COO Jeff Hurley.
Williams, who will perform the National Anthem for the 2018 Eastern League All-Star Classic, has worked to raise awareness for IPF since his father passed away from the disease in 2001.
