The Sea Dogs and Erie SeaWolves continue their three-game series on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field...Portland dropped the opener on Tuesday night 11-9.

Portland: LHP Henry Owens (6-3, 2.52)

Erie: RHP Jeff Ferrell (4-4, 4.78)

NEWS AND NOTES

HENRY'S TURN : LHP Henry Owens makes his 12th start of the season, as Portland and Erie continue their three-game series on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field...The Sea Dogs dropped the opener on Tuesday night and have lost three of their four games at Hadlock...Despite the minor setback, Portland owns the best record in the Eastern League at 38-20...Over the weekend, the 'Dogs improved to 20 games over .500, their best record as a Red Sox affiliate and their best mark since June 6, 1997.

WILD GAME ONE : Portland scored nine runs over their first 4 turns, but Erie scored the final four runs of the game, and held on for an 11-9 win on Tuesday night...The SeaWolves snapped a 9-9 tie in the eighth inning on a squeeze play by C Craig Albernaz...SS Dixon Machado added the final run with a double...Portland's 14 hits came from seven 2-hit performances (Greenwell and Menses were hitless)...DH Keury De La Cruz, LF Derrik Gibson and C Blake Swihart each had 2 RBI for the 'Dogs...Albernaz and RF Steven Moya drove in three runs apiece for Erie.
