NEWS AND NOTES

ALMOST HOME: The Portland Sea Dogs seek a .500 roadtrip, closing out a three-game series with the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate) on Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium...Portland has won 12 of their last 20 games, and needs two more wins to clinch their first winning month of the season...Lefty Daniel McGrath makes the start in the trip finale, he is 1-2, 4.04 ERA (16 ER/35.2 IP ) in nine starts this season.

'DOGS HOLD ON: Esteban Quiroz hit a three-run homer in the first and Dedgar Jimenez tossed six strong innings, leading Portland to a 4-3 win on Saturday night...The 'Dogs added their fourth run in the third inning on a run-scoring fielder's choice by Chris Madera...Jimenez yielded three hits, one run, three walks, and five strikeouts...Reading's pitchers retired the final 16 batters faced...Adam Lau allowed a run in the ninth but locked down his third save of the year.
