NEWS AND NOTES
HOMESTAND CONTINUES WITH ALTOONA: The Portland Sea Dogs seek their first five-game winning streak of the season, opening up a three-game series with the Altoona Curve (Pirates affiliate) on Friday night at Hadlock Field...Portland's three-game sweep of Trenton was their second sweep at home this year - the first was an abbreviated two-gamer over Binghamton on April 13-14 (Opening weekend)...'Dogs have won a season-high four straight home games.
GOOD RESULT ON THURSDAY: Daniel McGrath (2-3) earned his first win as a starter, tossing six strong innings, as the 'Dogs beat Trenton 3-2 on Thursday afternoon...McGrath yielded one run on three hits, two walks, and four strikeouts...Luke Tendler knocked in the game's first run with an RBI single in the first...In the sixth, Chad De La Guerra snapped a 1-1 tie with a solo-homer (#12) to right field...Later in the inning, Ausin Rei drew a bases-loaded walk.
