Trenton Thunder News Release

Three Thunder Pork Roll relievers provided a combined seven and two-third innings as the Thunder snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in front of a crowd of 5,416 on Friday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.

The Pork Roll (66-56) snapped a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Ryan Lidge and Rashad Crawford hit back-to-back singles with one out off Fisher Cats (68-51) starter Tayler Saucedo. Center fielder Forrest Wall bobbled the ball on the play, allowing Lidge and Crawford to take third and second, respectively before a wild pitch allowed Lidge to race home for the go-ahead run.

Jhalan Jackson added a solo home run in the sixth, his team-leading 16th of the season, to extend the Pork Roll lead to 3-1.

Jordan Foley provided three and two-third innings of scoreless relief behind starter Jonathan Loaisiga, who had allowed an RBI-double to Harold Ramirez in the first inning. The Pork Roll responded immediately in the bottom half, however, as Wendell Rijo drew a one-out walk, advanced to second on a balk by Saucedo, and scored on a base hit to left field by Trey Amburgey.

The Fisher Cats' biggest threat came in the sixth inning. Wall singled, and Foley was lifted from the game in favor of Phillip Diehl. After a strikeout, Cavan Biggio singled to push the tying run into scoring position, and the two baserunners advanced one base on a wild pitch by Diehl. But after another strikeout, Diehl induced a soft liner off the bat of Santiago Espinal that center fielder Crawford caught on a diving effort in left-center.

Matt Wivinis recorded the save, retiring all four batters he faced. With the win, the Thunder Pork Roll shrunk their magic number to 12.

Your Thunder continue their homestand on Saturday night with a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. against the Fisher Cats. Thunder RHP Brian Keller will go against New Hampshire RHP Jon Harris in the first game, while RHP Adonis Rosa will go for the Thunder against Fisher Cats RHP Josh DeGraaf in the nightcap. The evening will feature a postgame Fireworks Spectacular, presented by Capital Health, and the Thunder will also celebrate Military Appreciation Night. Tickets are available by phone at 609-394-3300 or online at TrentonThunder.com.
