New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
TRENTON, NJ - Cavan Biggio notched his second consecutive multi-hit game but the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) fell to the Thunder Pork Roll (Yankees) 3-1 Friday night at ARM & HAMMER Park. Despite the loss, the Fisher Cats are still 3.5 games ahead of the Pork Roll for first place in the Eastern Division.
New Hampshire started the scoring in the top of the first. Forrest Wall was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored when Harold Ramirez doubled him home.
The Pork Roll answered with the tying tally in the bottom of the first. A one-out infield single and a balk set up a two-out RBI single from Trey Amburgey that made it 1-1.
Single runs in the fourth and sixth added to the Yankee affiliate's lead. A wild pitch scored a runner from third in the fourth and Jhalan Jackson slugged a solo home run to start the sixth.
Cavan Biggio and Andrew Guillotte both logged two hits in the losing effort. Kirby Snead tossed a perfect inning of relief in the seventh, as did Jackson McClelland in the eighth for his Double-A debut.
The series continues with a doubleheader tomorrow night. RHPs Jon Harris and Josh DeGraaf will start for the 'Cats in games one and two, respectively, while the Thunder send RHPs Brian Keller and Adonis Rosa to the mound. Coverage begins at 4:45 p.m. with the Fisher Cats Pregame Show and continues with first pitch at 5:00 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
New Hampshire returns to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium on Wednesday, August 22 to play a twi-night doubleheader with the Portland Sea Dogs at 5:35 p.m. The Fisher Cats are closing in on a milestone five million in total attendance.
