Sea Dogs Complete The Series Win, Beat The Mets 3-0!

(Portland, ME) - Kris Johnson (2-1) notched his second straight win, hurling six scoreless innings as the Sea Dogs beat the Binghamton Mets 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field. Portland takes three of four from the B-Mets and finishes their 7-game homestand at 4-3.

Johnson allowed just five hits with no walks and fanned three. The lefty won two starts during the homestand and lowered his ERA to 4.94.

Mike James worked two scoreless frames in relief of Johnson to pick up his first hold of the season - Chad Rhoades worked around some traffic in the ninth inning to record his first Double-A save. The Mets had runners at second and third with one out but Rhoades induced to flyout's to left field.

Jeff Corsaletti went 2-for-3 and knocked in the game's first run with an RBI double in the third inning off Eric Brown. Brown suffered the loss for Binghamton despite six strong innings on seven hits and one run.

Portland added to their lead in the seventh inning when Mickey Hall blasted a home run over the right-field wall. The long ball was the first Double-A hit for Hall, who had struck out his previous three at-bats.

Mark Wagner added a sacrifice fly in the eight inning for Portland's final run.

The Sea Dogs are off Monday and travel to Bowie, Maryland on Tuesday night. Lefty Dustin Richardson will make the start for the Sea Dogs. Bowie will have Chris Tillman on the hill.

Notes...Aaron Bates extended his hitting streak to 12-games with a single in the fourth inning...Binghamton had one hit after the fourth inning...The Sea Dogs have hit 10 of their 16 home runs against the B-Mets.
