Fisher Cats Scratch Baysox Late, Split Series

(Manchester, NH) - The Fisher Cats scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to beat the Baysox 3-2 Sunday afternoon. Brian Jeroloman hit a sacrifice fly to left field to drive in the winning run. The loss drops the Baysox to 11-12.

Baysox starter Jason Berken gave the Baysox a great chance to win, allowing one run over five innings off five hits with no walks and nine strikeouts. The Baysox managed seven hits off Fisher Cats starter Brandon Magee, and managed to draw two walks with two outs in the ninth, but were unable to score more than two runs.

Sebastien Boucher drew a bases-loaded walk in the second inning to drive in the first run of the game. The Baysox would add another run in the fifth inning when Jeff Nettles singled to left field, scoring Carlos Rojas.

Anthony Hatch homered off of Ryan Keefer in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game at 2-2. In the bottom of the eighth, Ryan Patterson doubled to left field off Gerrardo Casadiego. Kyle Phillips was intentionally walked and Julio Manon came out to relieve Keefer. Ryan Klosterman drew a walk to load the bases and Brian Jeroloman drove in the game winning run with a sacrifice fly to left.

The Baysox will be off on Monday, and will open a three game series at home against Portland on Tuesday at 7:05.
